Georgie Cox is a first-time author who has managed to captivate the imaginations of her small audience to date. Most of her early work is poetry with her branching out to the book industry in 2014. As a single parent of a now adult son, Georgie has spent the last twenty years working in the Criminal Justice System, experiencing the real-life horrors of society. In her efforts to escape this, Georgie has created a world of fantasy and sci fi, filled with action and adventure into which she draws her readers, taking them into a world where anything is possible.

The Evolved is the first book of The Cause Trilogy, which tells the story of Hope a seventeen-year old girl, who was born at The Haven, a small civilisation ruled by the Grandmasters of The Cause. Hope is different to everyone else at The Haven and she discovers that she has abilities beyond that of any normal human being. When Hope learns that these abilities will lead to her execution, she escapes The Haven with her best friend Saviour. They soon realise that the world is not the post-apocalyptic world they had been led to believe it was, and when they are given a Grandmasters’ key, which unlocks the vault to the ultimate weapon, their worlds are turned upside down. The Evolved pulls the reader into the adventures of Hope and Saviour’s journey to a city surrounded by a wall where the government controls everything and everyone.

As an avid reader, Georgie spent the majority of her childhood reading, losing herself in the worlds of many authors. One evening in 2013 with nothing to read, Georgie was inspired to write her first novel The Evolved, which developed into a trilogy and a writing journey that was totally unexpected. The first of the trilogy was published in 2014 and the second two books have been completed. Georgie is currently working on a new novel, which she hopes to complete by the end of the year.

Belka Books Press:

- Georgie, what do you think makes a good story?

Georgie:

- I think a good story needs a good back story, depth and characters with whom the reader can connect. The ability to pull the reader into the world of the author is a skill any good author should strive to achieve.
